Hector Curiel was born in Guadalajara, México. He grew up there and while still a boy he studied at the Departamento de Bellas Artes for four years. After graduating from university he traveled extensively, which in his own words was more instructive than all the school years.
He started writing his first novel when he was fifteen. However, life abruptly changed and he had to abandon his first manuscript. He continued reading from many different Spanish language authors though. When he learned English his world rapidly expanded, and he started writing anew, although in mostly a private way.
It was until 2008 that Héctor decided his ideas were mature enough to give it a try again on literature. ¡Añe! is his first fully written novel, both in Spanish and English. There are two more books in the works though.
Héctor works as a Technology and Business consultant and lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with his wife, two daughters and a son.
Héctor likes reading, writing fiction, running, and listening to music.
…and chess of course, if time allows.
